18 Degrees is participating in the 2018 Open Cities festival.
In collaboration with Chapman Taylor architects and VMZINC we’ve created Let’s Build London as part of the Open Cities Family architectural festival.
Budding architects and designers will channel their creativity, ingenuity and energy into creating a brand new London designed from the perspective of a child. Entrants will make a building from a cardboard box, decorate it appropriately (it’s gonna get messy) and then decide where it should be positioned in our recreation of London, complete with a river Thames made from Zinc tiles.
Open Cities is a charity which promotes people-centred city design, organising year-round events to promote understanding of what makes for a people-friendly built environment.
Volunteers are welcome, and those of you with children are encouraged to bring them along. The event is suitable for children (and the young-at-heart) aged 7+.
Please spread the word among your families and friends – it is a great opportunity to have fun while doing something worthwhile for the community.
We would be delighted to see you there.
