An installation of 600 live flowers as part of the 2016 Darc Awards in London. Lighting design by 18 Degrees.

‘Prejudice’ was 18 Degrees’ entry for the Darc Awards in 2016.

The installation featured around 600 fresh cut flowers which were arranged in such a way that certain patterns and words were made visible through the colour of light being aimed at the flowers.

The concept references the UK’s decision to leave the EU and the effect that the referendum political campaigns had on British society.

Paul James, Editor in Chief of Mondo Arc magazine said “18 Degrees’ have a very thoughtful and considered process and this is reflected in the refinement of their built work.  Their installations for the Darc Awards have been conceptually well-founded and delivered to a very high standard.”
